Thirty six teams competed in the U13/U14 Coast Winter Classic over the weekend in Myrtle Beach and were blessed with some of the greatest February weather on record. Teams from South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia battled hard and five different clubs took home championship trophies.

Coach Joel Banta’s Coast 00 Red had a tremendous weekend posting three one sided results in the qualifying rounds before earning a hard fought 4-2 victory in the final against Raleigh , North Carolina based XL Soccer World Rangers. ” We took full advantage of having the wind at our backs in the first half and went to the break up 3-1. The tournament matches this weekend at home will prepare us for our difficult Challenge League play coming up” said Coach Banta.
