The Triangle United Fall Classic in Chapel Hill, N.C. “Our teams battled both intense heat and terrific competition in the first event of the fall slate. This tournament is a great way to prepare our kids for the coming season. Bringing home five championships from a tournament this size is a nice accomplishment” said Coast DOC Ross Morgan.
Coach Justin Wolf ran the table posting eight consecutive wins with his two teams. The Coast 07 Red claimed top honors in the top division of 10U boys and his Coast 08 combined team swept the 9U first division.” Having this much success at our first event certainly sets the bar high for the remainder of the season. The boys exceeded my expectations” said Coach Wolf.
Championships were also claimed at 14U and 13U top level boys. Coach Jason Mueller led the Coast 03 Red to two wins and a tie in 14U pool play before capturing the final in a 1-0 heart stopper. Coach John Weaver posted identical 3-0-1 results in the round robin format of 13U with his Coast 04 Red team to claim top honors.” This was my first tournament with the team and the effort could not have been any better” added Coach Weaver.
In his first tournament with the Coast 07g Red girls Coach Thomas Tamale guided his team through four highly contested matches to bring home the championship trophy in the first division of 10U . ” I could not have asked for anything more from the girls as they followed instruction and stayed positive for the entire tournament. It was nice for them to receive the award at the conclusion” said Coach Tamale. The Coast 06g Red coached by Stepheney Burnett fell 2-0 in the finals of first division 11U girls to receive the finalist trophy.
