Four hundred teams from six states completed over seven hundred matches to determine champions in sixty one divisions. The 11th annual Coast Spring Classic is the largest youth soccer tournament in South Carolina and is officially in the books. “ It takes months of planning to pull off an event of this magnitude and requires total commitment from the Coast FA staff, sponsors, reciprocal clubs, volunteer field marshals, referees, hotels, vendors ,Horry County Recreation Department, the city staffs from North Myrtle Beach Sports Park and Market Commons Complex. This tournament provides Coast FA with the funds to scholarship many local families that otherwise could not afford to participate in youth soccer . The Spring Classic also brings in an economic impact of over four million dollars to our community in the shoulder season so everyone benefits. The Coast Spring Classic is played on the last two weekends of April each year and has been so successful that our plan is to add a Coast Fall Classic on Labor Day weekend starting in 2019 “said Coast Executive Director Heyward Gulledge.
