Five Coast FA boys teams returned home with hardware from the Surf Charleston Shootout in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Three championships and two finalist trophies were claimed during the boys only weekend under pristine weather conditions in the Lowcountry. “ Surf put together a nice event with many of the top clubs in the Carolinas participating during the two day tournament. It is great for our club to get quality matches just ninety minutes down the road” said Coast Director of Coaching Ross Morgan.

Coast 14 Red (Click for Image) Coach Q Grate…Reeled off four consecutive wins to claim the top honors at U9 Premier Division. This result keeps their impressive fall tournament championship streak intact. “The boys are setting a blistering pace and playing really good soccer. The depth of this team is providing good results and they are fun to coach ” said Coach Q Grate.

Coast 13 Red (Click for Image) Coach Connor Norton Baker…Put together a dominant weekend in U10 Premier Division, scoring twenty four goals while allowing only three including a convincing 5-1 score line in the championship over DISA Madrid. Coach Connor Norton Baker said “ The boys effort and teamwork this weekend was fantastic. We scored some amazing individual and team goals and showed progress all over the field. Couldn’t be more proud of them. ”

Coast 10 Red (Click for Image) Coach RJ Bass…Also finished with a 4-0-0 weekend against very good competition in the U13 Premier Division. Any time you win a tournament with wins over Surf, FC Charleston and CESA you have done well. “ Great showing this weekend from my kids. I am proud of the effort put forth from each player to will the team through a testing weekend of matches. It is great momentum to carry us into our remaining SCYSA league matches “ said Coach Bass.

Coast 14 Black (Click for Image)  Coach Oscar McConnell….Took a brand new team to their first championship match but came up just short against a strong Charleston Soccer Club side in the U9 Open Division final. Coach McConnell said “ I am so proud how far these boys have come since August 1st when we formed the team. Each player has worked hard and listened during training. They are fast becoming a serious side. ”

Coast 06 Red (Click for Image) Coach Mario Benjamin….Finished as finalist in the U17 Premier Division. Dropped a heartbreaker to Surf 06 NPL in the final on PK’s. “We came up short in the final but I enjoyed filling in this weekend with the boys. Coach Brian Smith has done a tremendous job with this team “ Said Coach Benjamin”
