After posting a 10-1-1 regular season record and winning the South Atlantic Conference things now get really tough for the Mutiny as we enter a single elimination playoff format. Our outstanding record during the season earned us the #2 overall seed in the nation and allows us to theoretically host the first three rounds of the playoffs in Myrtle Beach . The journey starts this Saturday evening 7/18/15 at Ashley Booth Field versus FC Wichita Kansas with a 7:30 pm kickoff. If we advance Saturday we will host the winner of Chattanooga Tennessee FC versus Miami Fusion FC on Saturday 7/25/15 at home to decide the South Region Championship.
The winner of the South Region Championship will be one of four teams that remain and will face the champions from the Northeast, Midwest and West Regions on 8/1/15. The Mutiny will host this match as long as we are still alive in the playoffs. The winner of the Regionals will then face one another for the NPSL National Championship on Saturday 8/8/15 at the home field of the highest seed .
“What an incredible season the boys have put together . Everyone involved with the team has done an outstanding job to get us to this point with a special debt of gratitude given to head coach Tom Morris. Our success in the regular season is paying huge dividends for us now allowing us to host the first three rounds and potentially the National Championship in Myrtle Beach. Our local soccer community will benefit from seeing quality matches that feature nine local players on our team. Norwegian national Tryme Hogner did a great job getting the Mutiny established but since Coast FA purchased the team two years ago we have greatly benefited from the local leadership and club support. We have a huge task facing us Saturday and I hope to have everyone come out when we face Wichita ” Said Sporting Director Pat Piscitelli.
