Coast FA youth soccer teams celebrated the St. Patrick’s Day weekend competing in the St. Patrick’s Day Cup in Columbia SC. The luck of the Irish was with four Coast teams who found their way to the finalists’ podium.
Coach Joel Banta’s 07 Red made their second consecutive tournament final, and this time they would not be denied. The 07 Boys cruised to a winners medal on the back of 3 clean sheets from 4 games.
The Boys 08 Black team earned their winners’ medals after beating a strong Charlotte United team 3-1 in the final. Coach Ross Morgan’s young team went undefeated in their run to the U10 title.
Coast 09 Black welcomed Coach Brian Bouhl to the club with a trip to the podium, and a winners’ medal. The 09 Boys went undefeated on the weekend.
Coach Manny Ardeljan’s 10 Red Boys collected their third finalists’ medals of the spring season finishing second in a crowded U8 division. The 10 Boys rode the division’s best defense to a 2-1-1 record, and came up just short of a winners’ medal on points.
